Owner's sticker on front pastedown, hinges cracked, preliminary pages loose and laid in, good only with faint dampstain on front board and top page edges. Inscribed by the author on the loose preliminary page: "For Mrs. Frederick H. Betts, With the Compliments of The Author, Southampton Oct. 188?"
