("Eric von Stroheim") 2 pages, Culver City, California, on MGM letterhead, September 25, 1936. 11" x 8 1/2". Van Stroheim sells his story "Grace Moore Original" to MGM. Very good (two file holes; staple holes; spindle hole). Von Stroheim may have become acquainted with Grace Moore through the director Victor Schertzinger. Erich von Stroheim (1885-1957), born September 22, 1885, Vienna, Austria-Hungary; died May 12, 1957, Maurepas, Seine-et-Oise, France; Austrian screen actor and director, in Hollywood from 1918; directorial career 1919-28: "The Birth of a Nation" 1915 assistant to D.W. Griffith; "Intolerance" 1916 again with D.W. Griffith; "Blind Husbands" 1919; "Greed" 1923; "The Wedding March" 1927; acting career 1918-56: "La Grande Illusion" 1937; "Sunset Boulevard" 1950 for which he received an Oscar nomination.
