Inscribed by the author to Richard Aldington on front free endpaper. Previous owner's name and date also written on front free endpaper. Book leans to the right. Reading crease in spine. Spine sunned. boards and spine rubbed, slightly stained, slightly worn around edges. Boards bumped at corners (particularly bottom corner of front board). Top edge stained dark green. Edges, endpapers and some pages foxed and stained. Pages browned. Split hinges at pages 24-25, 72-73, 152-153, 168-169, 200-201. Pages 225-228 and odd other pages creased. Green pencil mark on page 214. Indentation near bottom edge of back board.
