2nd edition of hardcover printing. Wear to boards, especially along top and bottom edges; binding tight; discoloration to edges of a couple of forward pages. Autographed by Dionne on half-title page. "A Compilation of the best negro stories at which the people of the South have laughed in the past generation--including a group of the Best Loved Stories of the World War." Dionne worked at the Second National Bank in Houston and began collecting dialect stories, anecdotes, and jokes in 1906.
