Octavo, black cloth lettered in gilt; with minor edge-wear to spine. First edition. A presentation copy, inscribed: "To my good friend Marty Stone, Edwin Seaver, February 5, 1947," with Martin Stone's ownership signature and scattered annotations. Entertainment lawyer Martin Stone, the creator of Howdy Doody, produced the acclaimed radio show, "Author Meets the Critics," in which Seaver participated in February 1947. Stone was also an unofficial adviser to President Harry S. Truman. He produced three television appearances Truman made for the Ford Foundation soon after he left office.
