Fred Brigden (1871-1956) arrived from England when he was just eight months old. Perhaps he inherited his artistic talent from his father, Fred Sr., an artist and engraver. His paintings capture early Canada perfectly, whether he portrayed a lumber road in winter, a typical barn in the Ontario countryside, St. Urbane in Quebec, the hills of Cape Breton, Lake Okanagan, a fishing port in the Maritimes, or an unnamed lake in the wilderness. He died at age 85 while on a sketching trip in Bolton, Ontario. Seller Inventory # 132104
