A scarce pro-Calhoun, anti-Crawford piece for the 1824 presidential election. When Calhoun decided to seek the presidency in 1824 "both Crawford and Adams, the acknowledged front-runners, felt betrayed," Crawford because Calhoun had reportedly assured him that he would defer to the older man and wait his turn; and Adams, because Calhoun had said that, "for the good of the country.the next President should come from the North."
