1933. First Edition. Elephant Folio (42 cm by 30 cm). Full crushed morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, ruled and decorated in gilt (including turn-ins), with raised bands. Some wear to extremities of binding, but very sound and sturdy overall. Top edges gilt. 386 pp. (in 2 volumes). Magnificently illustrated with collotype plates and plans. Of the 300 copies printed for private circulation, this is number 65, presented to Newcomb Carlton (president of the Western Union corporation), and signed on the presentation page by Ernest R. Graham. Graham was a co-founder of the firm, and had previously been a partner of Daniel H. Burnham. An important, sumptuously produced and scarce monograph. Seller Inventory # S23767

Full-Leather. Condition: Fine. First Edition, Limited. 2 volumes, each in its own heavy board slipcase. No. 277 of a limited edition of 300 copies. Signed by Ernest P. Graham. 385 photogravure plates. Brown crushed levant, top edges gilt, pages uncut. Stamp-signed by binders, Sangorski and Sutcliffe. Two 1/2" scrapes to spine of volume I - one at top of spine and another to first raised band. Clean and unmarked. Minor wear to slipcase panels with two 1" splits to edges of one slipcase and a 7"' split to one edge of the other slipcase. Signed. Seller Inventory # 026382
