British edition, third printing, April 1956 (first printing was November 1955). With original unclipped jacket (8s 6d). Marked as 'Poetry Book Society Recommendation' to front inner flap of jacket. Signed by the author in black ink directly to front end-paper without dedication. Jacket has minor edge/shelf wear, very minor patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), fading to/near spine, the odd small mark, a little patchy browning, a couple of very small (approx. 3mms) tears, little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine and to corners, the odd small crease/rub to edges and is a little grubby. Boards are near fine with a hint of pushing to corners, the odd small mark and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. One scratch/scrape to edge of pages. Pages little tanned. Very small bookseller's stamp inside front board. Very occasional small mark to pages. No other faults.
