INSCRIBED by the author to "Colonel Wm.M. Wilson". On page 74 the large initial letter "T" has been changed to a "W" with what looks like crayon. This changes the word "then" to "when". I suspect that the change was made by the author. The only other marking that I could find is on page 4 where someone has underlined in pencil the phrase"J. C. Woodward, a severe disciplinarian, who later went to Gordon Military Institute". This marking was probably Col. Wilson's. Near Very Good solid hard cover first printing without a dust jacket. The cover lettering is dull but legible.
