About this Item
First Edition, Second Printing. Association copy. Inscribed to Virginia on the title page by the author. The Virginia in this case is literary critic Virginia Spencer Carr who wrote literary criticism most notably, "A Lonely Hunter: A Biography of Carson McCullers," "Dos Passos: A Life" and "Paul Bowles: A Life." It was Gore Vidal who suggested to Carr to switch from her work on a Tennessee Williams biography to the biography of Paul Bowles. This book is near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Book has been well preserved for 40 years and is clean throughout, with rigid, square boards, pointed tips and a tight spine. Appears unread. Not remaindered. The dust jacket IS price clipped with very slight chipping along and near spine bottom and front edge bottom. Looks dignified in its plastic cover. Shipping box is suitable for wrapping with a non-price listed purchase order inside along with biodegradable packing. Seller Inventory # 001006
