About this Item
Four privately published collections of poetry, undated, but printed sometime between 1934 and 1951 based upon the dated inscriptions, all being signed and inscribed by the author, Hans Patrick Hamilton [1889-1967]. Not to be confused with his more famous namesake, though as he dropped the name "Hans", probably during WW1 due to anti-German sentiment, it is an easy mistake to make. The Seekers is hardbound in paper covered boards, the other three are string-bound in card wraps. The Seekers is somewhat marked and bowed, the others are in better condition, slightly rubbed, toned and foxed. The poems tend to focus on religious and patriotic subjects, with some military references. Hamilton served in the R.A.F. during WW2 and one of the inscriptions is to a Corporal J. Sparks. All are unsurprisingly quite rare. Seller Inventory # 6032
