Victor Gollancz, London 1948. 100 pages. First UK edition, 1st printing. SIGNED and inscribed by Eric Russell Bentley, the translator of this work and essay author on Brecht and his work. Bentley is also a member and inductee into the American Theater Hall of Fame as well as the New York Theater Hall of Fame. Eric Bentley's inscription reads: For Hugh Johnston from Eric Bentley / Indiana, 1951 / (thanks for the ride). Slight toning to endpapers. Light foxing to page edges. Corners are sharp. General shelf rubbing. DJ has price intact. A couple of small open chips at folds and a couple of small closed tears. Light toning and foxing to the DJ.
