About this Item

White cloth on boards with gilt decoration tom front board and gilt lettering to spine. Moderate bumping to extremities and a little grubbiness to the cloth. The pages are hand-cut, with the top edges being gilt. The fold out 'Map of the 'Town Head' is complete and undamaged, part from mild creasing and fraying where the edge meets the page fore-edge. A scarce item. Inscribed in ink on the half title page ' To Mr Peter Fyfe. from the Author. Christmas 1910'. Probably the Peter Fyfe who was the Chief Sanitary Inspector for Glasgow at that time.
