The author was a Scottish educator who also wrote extensively on philosophy in the late 1800s. The book seems to abandon his title of dualism and is in fact and analysis of perception, independently undertaken, but with full knowledge of, and reference to, the Kantian investigation. Besides rejecting the subjectivity of the Critick of Pure Reason, the author differs from Kant in maintaining that a real content of knowledge is given to us not only through sense but also by reason as functionally present in perception. Reason furnishes "pure percepts" (dialectic percepts) which are "not merely regulative, but constitutive of the external". A clean presentable copy. Seller Inventory # 009493
