Signed by Author(s) A near fine book in a Very Good DW, this is a first edition/ first impression of possinly the first book exclusively about Margaret Thatcher. Written after she became leader of the Conservative Party in Britain, but published before she became Prime Minister. The first female leader in the western world. Laid in are 3 items of interest, 1/ a 10 Downing St compliments slip from Derek Howe, 2/ a letter from 10 Downing St, to the owner of the book, thanking him for the kind words he had obviously written to Mrs Thatcher, this was signed by Chris Butler, in the political Office. 3/ A Get Well soon/ Christmas Card to the original owner, signed by about 30 people including someone called Sophia Loren (surely not). It is signed on the front endpaper, simply Margaret Thatcher which is, judged by the date on the letter of thanks, when she was PM. Seller Inventory # 183
