A diary-type, first-hand look at the new nation of Israel through letters to the author's wife, Nery (sometimes spelled Neri) Judith Loewy, who was an ardent Zionist, and notes taken on his travels there. Signed presentation from Bloomfield, to his wife, on the front endpaper: "To my dear Nery, to whom I wrote the letters which formed the basis of this book. With all my love- B.M. Bloomfield. Montreal- February 17/50." Certainly the best association copy one can imagine for this title! Very Good (contents clean & tight); some edgewear (small chips, tears & creases) d/j. $150.00.
