This is a first edition published by Random House in 1950. Inscribed on the front free endpaper by Goyen, "Billy", to Millie Vann, "Sweet Millie". Book shows some signs of shelfwear being lightly rubbed to bottom edges and has an ex-libris plate in the name of Millie Vann. There is also a small gold bookshop sticker to the bottom of the rear pastedown. Wrapper has had the corners clipped on the flaps although the price is still present.
