An illustrated biography of the potter by a life-long admirer of Coper and his work. Beautifully illustrated with fine photographs, many by his wife,Jane Coper, showing for the full range of Hans Coper's work as well including graphic work. Over 200 illustrations including 40 Colour Plates. Bound in brown cloth cover with white facsimile signature on front & spine. INSCRIBED BY LUCIE RIE To David with love from Lucie Rie . Ephemera included: The Times newspaper article Master at the wheel by David Sexton, 1990; Large flyer for the exhibition at the Sainsbury s centre listing 123 items in the show. The dust wrapper has a fox mark,the inscription has ghosted/ offset on the facing page, else very good. Size 28.5 x 22.5cm (11 x 9 inches) Provenance. David Coachworth David Coachworth joined the Victoria and Albert Department of Circulation in the late 1950 s as a museum assistant. In the early 1970 s he was involved in numerous exhibitions including International Ceramics which was exhibited in 1972.
