Published in 1945 by Doubleday, Garden City NY. Signed and inscribed by the author (Jim Bishop) on first blank endsheet. Hard cover, no dust jacket. See photos for condition. Hardcover boards have some very minor discoloration in splotches on the front. Board corners curling in, especially on back board. Small rips and minor fraying in fabric at top corners of boards. Some creasing on fabric around top of back board and top and bottom of spine. Red ink of fabric fading around top and bottom of spine and board edges. Text on spine very faded, and difficult to read as a result. Last ~10 pages of text block (including last pasted down endsheet) have small gray/black markings towards the middle of the fore edge (possibly graphite - see photos). 1-2 pages in center of text block have small chip in center of fore edge (see photos). Pages slightly toned. Binding a bit loose from age, but in great shape. Pages appear clean and clear of writing, markings, highlighting or notable damage or staining.
