A nice set of four volumes by S. S. Van Dine with three signature card's laid in as photographed. Each is published by Charles Scribner's Sons, NY from 1927 to 1936. The Canary Murder Case is from 1927. Bound in full black cloth with green titles, this is a nice square clean copy. Contents are quite clean, with uncut text on thick paper. Laid is a card "To Gilbert S. Noll. With best wished S. S. Van Dine". The contents are clean The attractive second state jacket has a small price clip and some minor rubbing. The Bishop Murder Case is from 1929. Bound in full black cloth with blue titles. The spine ends are a little bumped, though the corners are tight. There is a small ownership signature to the front pastedown. Laid in is a small card "With best wishes S. S. Van Dine". The jacket is almost complete, with the price of $2.00 present. The spine is a little sunned. There are a few short closed tears and rubbing to the extremities. The Garden Murder Case is from 1925. Bound in full black cloth with yellow / gold titles. Very slightly bumped spine ends, but generally a nice tight clean tight copy. The attractive complete jacket, retians the $2.00 price with some minor rubbing and wear. The Kidnap Murder Case is from 1936. Bound in full black cloth with silver titles. A nice tight and clean copy. With a small clipped signature "S. S. Van Dine" laid in.
