One of the selected works of Pearl S. Buck issued to recognize her 80th birthday. Buck (whose maiden name is Sydenstricker) was the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938. She was well known for her efforts on behalf of Asian and mixed-race adoptions. This novel is about the author's mother during the dangerous Boxer Rebellion in China. Seller Inventory # 57054
