Octavo, viii, 400 pages. In Very Good condition with a Good plus dust jacket. Gray spine with black and tan lettering. Dust jacket is wrapped in a mylar cover, price uncut "$6.95", has light yellowing, slight chipping, and tears at top and bottom spine. Boards have light bumping to corners. Textblock has foxing to top edges and end pages, and age toning. Inscribed "For: Ray Scherer with the warm regard of his old friend", signed by Dwight D. Eisenhower and dated "14 October 1967" on the half-title page. Shelved in Case 1 1/2. Raymond L. Scherer (1919-2000) was an NBC News correspondent, best known for his extensive service as the network's chief White House correspondent. He spent over two decades covering the White House, Congress, and Washington, D.C., reporting on the administrations of six presidents from Harry Truman to Gerald Ford. 1404704.
