Bound in gray cloth with gilt lettering within a maroon spine label, publisher's logo in blind on front board. Top edge dyed red; corners sharp. In the illustrated dust jacket that shows fading to spine. Price of $4.00 intact on the front flap. Inscribed by Morgan on the half-title page. Inscription reads, "For -- -- , who sells my books [signed] Murray Morgan". Morgan's account of the preposterous journey of the C.S.S. Shenandoah, the Confederate vessel that cruised the Seven Seas, including a cruise along the West Coast, from the Aleutians south. Finding itself incommunicado with Confederate command, the ship continues to wreak significant damage three months after Lee surrendered.Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
