About this Item
The (small) Fenger family sails the West Indies in the 1920s in a 52-foot schooner. Dated Nov. 1, '38, inscribed and signed by the author to the FFE. Good-plus with a couple of small tears to the cloth near tail of the spine. Gilt titling and sailboat device clear to front board, but titles largely faded to spine. The (earlier) first book of Mr. Fenger, a private yacht designer from 1910 who took his Master of Engineering degree from Cornell in 1907, was ?Alone in the Caribbean? (1917), in which he described a 1911 cruise in a 17?foot sailing canoe. Fenger, his cocktails, and his recipe for Oyster Pan-Roast Diablesse receive substantial mention in Charles Baker's "The Gentleman's Companion" (1939.) We offer Fenger's copy of the two-volume "Gentleman's Companion," separately. This volume 315 pp. including glossary. Reduced from $220. Seller Inventory # 009705
