Signed and inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper. Dark red cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Image of cabin and mountains stamped in gilt on cover. Rubbing to edges, especially to head and tail of spine; minor scratching and soiling. No dust jacket. Tight binding and clean interior. Lew Sarett (1888-1954) was a poet, lecturer, and teacher who lived among Chippewa Indians near Lake Superior and also worked as a park ranger and wilderness guide.
