《醒梦骈言珍珠舶》分为：《醒梦骈言》和《珍珠舶》。
《醒梦骈言》是一部约成书于清乾隆间的拟话本集。全书十二回，写了十二个故事。本书奇特之处在于每个故事都可以在蒲松龄的《聊斋志异》中找到出处，换言之，描写的故事都是根据《聊斋志异》中的故事改编而成。可以看出，改编者对从《聊斋志异》中选取篇目时刻意回避了那些敏感主题，把笔触集中在婚姻爱情、伦理关系和处世哲学等方面。在遵循原作的基本框架的前提下，改编者对原作的故事也有所取舍，有的地方还加了一些出自个人胸臆的情节，使之*贴近现实生活，当然也忘不了感化、说教。原书的作者署"菊畦子"，从序和题署看，他还有另一名号"菊畦主人"。
此次和《醒梦骈言》同帙推出的《珍珠舶》是一部在清代的拟话本集。全书分六卷，每卷三回演绎一个故事。六篇作品大都取材于明末清初江苏、浙江一带民间传说，内容多是叙述市井社会的故事，如卷一写华亭县商人赵相与蒋云是一对好友，蒋云居心不良，奸占赵母与赵妻冯氏；赵知晓后，又遭蒋云设计，蒙冤下狱；后赵妻出首，蒋云被杖死，赵相与妻重圆；继而赵相在苏州遇一妓女，纳为妾，后来知道原是蒋妻巧姑。几个故事构思精巧，叙述也较平实，风格近于话本，内容着重针砭世风、宣扬果报。
原书题"鸳湖烟水散人著，东里幻庵居士批"。"烟水散人"或谓即清代小说家徐震别号。
