An increasing number of multinational corporations operate international procurement offices (IPOs) in foreign supply markets. These offices support their internal customers in global sourcing of components or finished goods. About the Author:

The Author: Christian Carduck, born in 1970, Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur, studied mechanical engineering and business administration at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. During his doctoral studies, he worked as a research assistant at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and in an international procurement office in Singapore. Since 1999, he works in the purchasing department of BMW in Munich, Germany.
