Barbara Levenson has lived in Miami, Florida for over 38 years. She was born in Central Ohio and was the first woman elected to the Columbus, Ohio Board of Education. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. Barbara has served as a prosecutor, and has run her own law practice where she focused on criminal defense and civil rights litigation. She was elected to a judgeship in the circuit court of Miami-Dade County where she served in the criminal and civil divisions. Barbara and her husband bred and showed German Shepherd dogs for 20 years and finished 11 champions in the show ring. The shepherd character, Sam, in her books is based on the antics of the Levensons' shepherds. Barbara is also the author of Fatal February and Outrageous October and the forth-coming Neurotic November.
