Karleen Pendleton Jiménez is an author. Her children's book Are You a Boy or a Girl? was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award, and her work as a screenwriter for the animated short film Tomboy, based on the aforementioned book, was honored with awards at multiple film festivals. She is a professor of education at Trent University. She lives in Toronto, Ontario.
