Synopsis:

This revised edition covers the Treaty on European Union as well as many new cases, including "In Re M" (formerly "M v Home Office") and "R v Secretary of State for Employment, Ex Parte Equal Opportunities Commission". The book takes a critical look at the main doctrines of constitutional law and examines the operation of the constitution in relation to Parliament, the Executive and the citizen. Finally it explores the means provided for citizens to seek redress of their grievances in the area of administrative law. Michael Allen is the author of "Textbook on Criminal Law" and co-author of "Elliott and Wood's Casebook on Criminal Law". Brian Thompson is author of "Textbook on Constitutional and Administrative Law".
About the Author:
Brian Thompson is a senior lecturer in Law at the University of Liverpool. Michael Allen is a Member of the Criminal Cases Review Commission and formerly Professor of Law, Newcastle Law School. He is the author of a number of leading legal books, including Textbook on Criminal Law, also published by OUP.
