Review:

July 2015 Macrame is having a huge revival and with this comes a revamped way of using the old techniques with modern designs. In this book, Kat has brought together 18 wonderful macrame projects that you will want to make, fgrom overf a dozen popular crafters. This book is packed full of information, beautifully illustrated and with very clear instructions, which have been tried and tested by ourselves. This book is full of inspiration and is highly recommended. * Love to Make * February 2015 Macrame is having a huge revival. With this revival is a new way to use the techniques and new designs. The overhaul has brought together the fun craft with up to date designs. Kat has designed some amazing new and fun projects. The book is packed full of information. The book is packed full of instructions so even a beginner can achieve the amazing results. Each of the instructions have clear pictures so you will find it easier to understand everything. The brilliant thing with the book is you learn all about the knots so you can then use them t The projects are fun and interesting with a diversity that means you can create many different projects. There are 18 projects within the book to make but the book gives you so much more that you'll continue on your journey with macrame. To make your own projects. You can make bracelets, bags, plant hangers, jewellery and so much more. You can make them for you or your home or give them as gifts. The book is packed full of inspiration! To see this review in full and others like it go to www.crochetaddictuk.com * Crochet Addict UK * May 2015 If you thought macrame was dead it's time to think again! Kat Hartmann re-introduces this fabulous craft in Decorative Knots: 18 Macrame Projects. A guide to the tools required provides the reader with the basic kit needed to carry out the projects on the following pages. The projects are introduced by a colour photograph of the finished item. The instructions takes you through each step, with colour illustrations explaining each one as you go. Projects are varied, from decorative household items such as a table runner or plant holder, jewellery such as bangles and earrings and practical items and even clothing. * Make it Shabby * Summer/Autumn 2015 This book features larger vintage style macrame projects which were very fashionable in the 1970's such as plant hangers, ornaments and a string shopping bag. It is a compilation of a dozen or so different artists. The projects are mostly made with hemp or string in natural colours, or paracords or pastel shades. There is a headband, a dream catcher and knotted straps for a vest and a shoulder bag, a towel rack, and a table runner. All are graded either easy, medium or difficult. There are four jewellery pieces, two micro-macrame projects and two chunky pieces made with thick cords, a Turk's head bracelet and a large pendant for a necklace. Actually there is only one project, a key chain, using one bead, the author suggests a 'small bead up to 1 inch in diameter'! My first impression on leafing through the book was very good. The projects are aimed at beginner and the descriptions of the knots are clear and very concise. The diagrams are numerous and superb, and very easy to follow. There are nine very attractive macrame pieces illustrated on the front and back covers of the book. * Bead Society For Great Britain *
