Spirited and loyal, despite her husband’s betrayal Laurie fights to save his and their families’ reputation in 19th century Canada. Escaping the city, she travels to Vancouver Island. There, life is hard, manual labour the only way to help her cousin Cassandra and Cass’s four children. Their situation is desperate, so she rides the old Indian trails where Al Murphy, Cass’s husband, once searched for gold. Delighting in the freedom and beauty of undiscovered lakes, mountains, rushing rapids and silent pools, she encounters danger, as well as the love of two men. Jed Shankland is a photographer, Morgan O’Neill a gambler and fugitive, a man of the wilderness. Both capture her heart in different ways but through them she faces sacrifice and heartbreak. The future seems bleak but her talents bring reward, as well as enduring love.

About the Author:
Family life has to come first but, whenever possible, I sit down and write! For years, as a member of the Romantic Novelists' Association I've made friends, received enormous support and great advice. I've always loved Mary Stewart's earlier stories of mystery, danger and romance, with fast-moving plots set in vividly described locations. These have influenced my own books, published as pocket novels for My Weekly and, previously, Hale Rainbow Romances, the latter also produced by Cloudberry as e-books. My latest Linford Romance Library story, 'Dangerous Waters', is now available in Large Print from Ulverscroft Publishing. Visit my website www.sheiladaglishnovels.com
