Who better to guide anyone around Paris than Babar, that beloved Francophile elephant? His youngest daughter, Isabelle, is going to Paris alone for the first time, and he tells her how to feel at home there. He explains that to enjoy Paris to the fullest, it's as important to go to cafes and street markets as it is to see the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. Readers young and old will benefit from the inside advice he offers in Babar's Guide to Paris. Laurent de Brunhoff's glorious paintings of the City of Light are the culmination of his long career of chronicling the life and opinions of Babar, who has been called 'the most famous Frenchman in the world.'

Review:

'5/5 stars: Babar's Guide To Paris is a precious book to read alone or to read together. It is a lovely, gentle introduction to life in other parts, and whether your destination is Paris, somewhere else in France or further afield, it provides welcoming starting blocks for discussion how things are different, yet wonderfully so, when you visit other countries' --Bookbag

'As eye-catching as it is nifty, Babar's Guide to Paris checks all the unmissable sights inviting readers to dawdle along the banks, browse bouquinistes heaving riverside stalls, while away the hours at the Louvre and even brave the throng of the metro through the charmingly wistful watercolours which have captured the imaginations of generations.' --France Today

"If you are looking for a good book to read with your child this summer or you are planning a trip to Paris? You might want to bear in mind the Babar's Guide to Paris as our #Expert #Bizziebabytesters really enjoyed this book" --Bizziebaby

Laurent de Brunhoff's Paris is filled with charming elephants on every page as they enjoy all the sights and sounds of one of Europe's most popular cities. There's even a postcard-perfect opening scene that features the Babar family visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral on a previous vacation. Babar also gives local advice. He tells Isabelle how apartment buildings work, why an elephant may be surprised by the size of an elevator, how to take the metro, how to find a restaurant to call your own, and to walk walk as much as possible to see everything that Paris has to offer. In the end, Isabelle is encouraged to enjoy her travels, but she is also lovingly reminded to always come home to Celesteville and her family.
