Dr Nick Wilson is Senior Lecturer in Cultural and Creative Industries at the Centre for Cultural, Media & Creative Industries Research at King's College London. He was previously Principal Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Small Business at Kingston University, and Course Director of the Programme of Master's courses in the Creative Industries & the Creative Economy. He studied music at Clare College, Cambridge and went on to train as a singer at the Royal College of Music, London and the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, before moving into music management, working for a leading artist management and concert promotions company. After completing his MBA, he joined the Small Business Research Centre, Kingston University, as a researcher and lecturer, subsequently completing his doctoral thesis
on the emergence of the early music performance labour market in the UK. He has undertaken a wide range of research and consultancy projects focusing on entrepreneurship and the creative industries. His current research interests include exploring the boundaries of the creative economy, the relationship between creativity and entrepreneurship, the need for a new discipline of social creativity, and the role of multi-disciplinary learning in creativity, arts, entrepreneurship and management. is co-author of Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, 6th Edition published by Cengage Learning.
Dr Martha Mador is Head of Enterprise Education at Kingston University, London. Her background encompasses marketing roles in new media companies, programme development and direction at Kingston Business School, and entrepreneurship promotion across London and the South-East of England. Educated in Toronto and the UK, Martha holds degrees from Trinity College University of Toronto, Cranfield School of Management, and Henley Management College. Through the WestFocus collaboration, Martha has developed a programme of extra-curricular entrepreneurship activities designed to develop and meet the aspirations of students across the 7 universities. She is responsible for the cross-university development of in-curriculum and extra-curricular entrepreneurship education at Kingston University. Martha's business interests focus on consultancy and management development work in the private and public sectors.
