Excerpt from The Metrical Dindshenchas, Vol. 2
As in former volumes, I have based my text as far as possible on the Book of Leinster, and have taken the ordinary practice of this codex as my standard of orthography. The critical apparatus is, I hope, reasonably full; the symbol &c. Is used to include various spellings oi' the same reading. In the text of Almu I., which is found only in L, the expanded contractions are scrupulously italicised this has not been done elsewhere, except in doubtful cases. I have given more weight than formerly to the readings of $3, a late, but accurate, codex.
