Synopsis:
This is a selection of the best of the technical drawings that ran across the centre spreads of the Eagle comic for more than a decade. Eagle the new national strip cartoon weekly, was launched on 14 April 1950 and for a decade was essential reading for many boys and girls in Britain. Top of the poll was the front page hero, Dan Dare, pilot of the future, but equally well remembered are the Eagle cutaways, the "exploded" drawings that filled the centre pages and explained contemporary technology in an exciting visual and wholly understandable manner. This selection of these now nostalgic illustrations begins with the very first "the new gas turbine electric locomotive" and includes cars, aircraft and the latest space-ship among the 40 drawings included. All the illustrations are reproduced exactly as they were in the original.

These were all first shown in the Eagle comic between 1946 and 1960. We do not use stock photos, the picture displayed is of the actual book for sale.
