The text is illustrated by Alice and Martin Provensen. 1/4 beige coloured cloth covered back strip with metallic copper coloured titles. 3/4 blue coloured boards with metallic copper titles and illustration embossed to the front panel. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound), again by Alice and Martin Provensen, with black and brown coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the back strip. A combination of the author's poetry and the artists' evocation of D. H. Lawrence's childhood in Eastwood, Nottingham; where he was born in 1885  his mother a schoolteacher and his father a coalminer. The book is aimed at the younger reader. Softening of the back strip edges along with some sunning with fading to the book edges. Age toning of the text book edges and there are a few foxing spots to the book. A little creasing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with fading of the back strip and a little to the left hand edge of the front panel. Stains to the lower edge of the front panel with foxing to the verso. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
