About this Item
Dated 1865, this is a very interesting original antique photograph mounted on card of a class of Pupils from Ackworth Quaker School in West Yorkshire, the school originally being opened in 1779 by John Fothergill on behalf of The Religious Society of Friends ( Quakers ) The photo shows the class, some with cricket bats in their hands, with a number of onlookers in the background Measuring 5.5 inches by 3.5 inches approx., on a piece of card measuring 7 inches by 5.25 inches approx. The second photo has had the contrast altered slightly to show the detail within the photo more clearly. General darkening to the mount with some noticeable marking and slight creasing, else in good general condition.
