Condition; Original hard back photograph album Good, some ageing, spine re-glued with most of original spine, original spine not perfectly attached. Contents Good, some foxing to pages, very little to any photographs, a few pages with light edge staining (not to photographs), most with title within image, with very aged endpages, first with pencil inscription ?Rome April & May 1893? (50 photographs) then ?Rome 1894 Feb, March, April ? pencil inscription below 2 ?Le Nozze d Argento , May 24, 93? possibly 2 portraits of the couple who went to Rome. Various photographers looks like mostly Fratelli Alinari (Romualdo Alinari 1830?1891, Leopoldo Alinari 1832?1865, Giuseppe Alinari 1836?1890) the world's oldest photographic firm founded in Florence, Italy in 1852. also James Anderson 1813-1877. So looks like many images were taken during the 1870/1880?s well before 1893/4 visits. Please see all our scans.
