Physician and surgeon William Mayo (1861-1939) was one of the principal founders of the not-for-profit Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. This classic waist-up photograph of Mayo is inscribed: "W. J. Mayo to Dr. R. M. Anderson with good wishes Oct. 1/30". Overall 13 1/4" x 10". Condition: Left blank margin slightly uneven, otherwise fine condition with a bold signature.
