South African colonial military commander, Major General Sir Edward Brabant, energetically signed this piece of paper in 1901 at Cape Town. Brabant served in the 9th Xhosa War, the First Matabele War and the Second Boer War, in which he created the 600 strong Light Horse Regiment known as Brabant s Horse. For his actions in South Africa, Brabant was knighted as a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath in 1901. Paper measures roughly 4 x 4 ¾ . Condition: Fold line, otherwise very good condition.
