Award-winning Swedish photographer, Christer Strömholm was born in 1918 in Stockholm; he was a major force in Swedish photography. Director of Fotoskolan in Stockholm, he trained over 1200 students, many who became leading Scandinavian photographers. He died in 2002 after a prolonged illness. This is his first monograph. Text in Swedish. OCLC locates only 2 copies. This copy with Strömholm's postcard announcing his 1965 exhibition Riksfotoutställningen. The postcard is addressed by Strömholm to Ulf Hård af Segerstad. Strömholm was initially associated with Subjective Photography and Otto Steinert's Fotoforum group who saw photography not as reportage but as a reflection of the photographer's personal view of the world, though he left when he felt that their aspirations were too formalist.
