1956 1st edition with B&W illustrations; tightly bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Dust jacket not price-clipped; tears and several small losses to edges and corners. Internally, endpapers yellowed; owner's initials on front free endpaper; otherwise, a clean, tidy copy. Included is a two-page letter from General Hollis to 'Jo', who is Jo Llewellyn (nee Williams), the wife of David Llewellyn M.P. and the Head of the wartime Cabinet Office Cypher Office; her husband wrote a review of Hollis's book which Jo sent to Hollis (this review is also included). As Jo was on Hollis's staff, the letter is quite personal, mentioning other staff members and football interests. Jo is mentioned on pp.117-118 of the book. Used - Very Good.
