Antique map of the western Balkans. Title cartouche with the name of the cartographer, Gerard Mercator, top right. Below that are the scale sticks. At the bottom left the Gulf of Venice. Latin text on the back. Small stain in the cartouche. Besides that, the map is in excellent condition. Hand-coloured copper engraving, published in Amsterdam in 1644 by Joan Blaeu in "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, sive Atlas Novus; in quo Tabulae et Descriptiones omnium Regionum."
