About this Item
Published by Robert Baugh in Llanymynech, Shropshire on August 1st 1808, this is a good example of Baugh's famous Large Scale Map of Shropshire engraved on nine sheets, this highly detailed map was created in the middle of the industrial revolution, and features many of the Forges, Furnaces, Mines, Coal and Lime Pits, Canals, Inclined Planes, etc, some of which are only known from this map. The map also extends beyond the Shropshire border, especially to the east where it extends to cover Wolverhampton, Walsall & Cannock etc. bound in a recent half leather binding titled in gilt to the spine, measuring 22 inches by 23 inches approx., there are repairs to shorts tears to some of the plain borders on the maps reverse with acid free archival tape, some edge creasing, there is a a centre fold line on the first map, else all contents are pictured so condition can be seen.
