Dating from circa 1956, this is a very interesting map made up for the River Trent Board, following the course of the River Soar from Trentlock near Long Eaton to Sapcote and Sharnford near Leicester. The map is bound into 10 inch tall hard cloth covers and folds out to nearly 15 feet in length, mounted on linen and divided into forty two panels following the meandering course of the river. Passing Ratcliffe on Soar, Kingston on Soar, Kegworth, Sutton Bonington, Normanton on Soar, Stanford on Soar, Cotes, Barrow on Soar, Mountsorrel, Cossington, Wanlip, Birstall, Thurmaston, Leicester, Aylestone, Glen Parva, Narborough, Littlethorpe, Croft, Sapcote & Sharnwood.
