Designed for locals and tourists, this is colour printed in English to one side, and Farsi to the other, 93x68cm, folding down into photo illustrated title panels 11x23cm. Printed by the Offset Press Inc. Tehran. Scale 1:2,500,000. Features include various qualities of road (paved, gravel, dirt); road numbers and distances in km; railways (existing and under construction); international boundaries; Ostan boundaries and capitals; various types of settlement; airports (international, other); gas stations; marshes; areas subject to flooding; areas subject to temporary inundation. Also included is a distance table, 5 inset plans (Isfahan, Mashhad, Tehran, Shiraz, Tabriz), index, chart showing official highway signs, and several captioned colour photos. Worldcat records several editions during the 1960s-70s, and this early one appears to be rare, with 2 locations only (Library of Congress, University of Michigan), and no record of the 1st edition.
