With an inscription on the endpaper: "Andrew J. Giuse to my friend Martin Emerick February 28 1898." And on the rear flyleaf: "John McGreevy book. 1818." "First published in 1745 as An easy spelling-dictionary which formed volume 3 of the first edition of The circle of the sciences , but was afterwards discontinued as part of the series and became a separate publication entitled A spelling dictionary of the English language on a new plan (Roscoe J71)" (ESTC). Alston, IV. 563 (locating just 2 copies - Oxford and the BL); ESTC locates just 5 copies, only the Morgan and Texas in the U.S. OCLC adds Princeton.
