Contemporary calf, with label (joints weak, foot of spine and corners slightly damaged, rubbed).*Nicely illustrated edition of James Thomson's (Ednam 1700-Richmond upon Thames 1748) poems 'Seasons' (first edition 1726 - 1730), which challenged the artificiality of English poetry, and inaugurated a new era by their sentiment for nature.
